WHO WE ARE
Arcata First Baptist Church is an evangelical, charismatic church that values sound doctrine on one hand and the power of God on the other. Our worship is mostly contemporary (Jesus Culture / Hillsong / Matt Redmond etc.) with a mix of hymns that honors our rich Christian heritage. This blending of the old with the new provides us with a powerful expression of praise and worship that honors all generations.
Arcata First Baptist Church is an elder led, staff run church that strongly believes that the kingdom of God flows out of relationships. People matter to God and so they should matter to us as well. To this end we seek to cultivate a culture of hospitality and a culture of honor as we seek to grow as a community of faith.
Arcata First Baptist Church also provides numerous fellowship opportunities for each age demographic as well as opportunities to serve, minister and be equipped in the things of God. We have people represented in all age categories and so no matter your age, young or old, you will find others that you can relate to and connect with. We feel that you will quickly discover that AFBC is a healthy, mature, vibrant congregation that is moving forward in the things of God.

About Us
Arcata First Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers with a rich heritage of over 100 years of ministry to Humboldt County and mission outreach to the world. In the shadow of the beautiful Redwood Community Forest, and surrounded by Humboldt State University, we are located in a beautiful and strategic area of Arcata.
