Bethany Bankston

Director of Nursery Ministry

Bethany was born in Humboldt County, and has lived here ever since. She was raised in a Christian home by an awesome mom and dad and has been attending Arcata First Baptist Church her whole life. When she was eight years old, she gave her life to Jesus, but her relationship with Jesus grew more personal when she became involved with her church’s college group called Solid Rock. The time spent in prayer, worship, studying the Bible, discipleship, and different ministry opportunities all played a part in growing her faith and trust in Jesus. Solid Rock is also where Bethany met her husband.

   Ever since she can remember, Bethany has always been fond of children. After getting married she transferred to HSU and earned her degree in child development with an emphasis in early childhood education. She worked for a time there as an assistant teacher for the preschool on campus, and over the years has had a variety of opportunities to work with children including teaching Sunday school and VBS, and doing child care. Since graduating HSU, Bethany is enjoying being a mom of two fun and very energetic children. She is excited for this opportunity to be more involved with the children at church and what God will do through it.
